This time...

I feel the years stretch on behind me
The sun fading fast
As I look on the horizon
I forget what I may grasp
Maybe the future is held in a second
Lost once attained
If we are to throw away these moments
Precious as they seem to be
Then what good are memories outdated in their conformity?
Age seems to pass without the time
Time ever catching up
If I could only hear the ticking of that clock
Then perhaps I could drift away

Melancholic, for sure.
"Maybe the future is held in a second
Lost once attained"
Interesting thought, there.
