Even in death as the embers grew dim
So bright was the soul that it outshone the sun
Petty little the stars did concede that this had come to be
When in seconds time as flutters were few
Their wisdom had been eclipsed
In the delirium of half spoken life our illusions are cast aside
Drained of concerns beginning within we are free to see what is
The beauty of this life is hidden by the ugliness we hold
Masked by the world and what they project
I cannot believe that we are as naive
But know of the limits of sight
In the twilight of life the scenes are as vivid
Like a beautiful trauma on the mind
Perhaps it is those final moments that set the world apart
From their nauseating counterparts
We behold with clarity for once in our lives
Our life, our world
Just as the candle is snuffed out

Ahh, yes. Surely clarity only comes in the last moments...for, if time were to go on...what could it be? There would be nowhere to go...nothing to strive for. Better it should end, I think. Obviously a thought-provoking write.
