someone on your mind?

Contributed by ladyfawn on Sunday, 30th January 2005 @ 02:31:28 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

someone on your mind tonight?
mayhap one who's held you tight,
just one word would make all right
even make your heart alight,

or maybe by first light of day?
thoughts of this one, float your way,
where all pros and cons are weighed
simply put, life is all affray,

how did it come to be as such?
for happiness, you love so much,
when you love someone, sooo...
your whole being longs their touch...

not another will do by your side
all of your soul has been applied,
this same old song is sang worldwide
as sure as waves

bring in the tides...

The ending was it's strongest point in my opinion - really good analogy.
This was a good solid poem, I definitely can sympathize with
what it says and feels. Nice job.

Amen sister... you have said it all too well. "As sure as waves bring in the tides."
After a loss, no one can fill the void... can't just brush it off. This is a good one.

Excellent! Really well done here, I'm absolutely loving your work! Your conclusion really caught me here too, it was so well crafted, the simile was one that I enjoyed to read, and for some reason it really stands out and speaks to me. I guess this whole poem is something that I can relate to, that must be it. You've written about something I've felt dozens of times over, and it's almost bittersweet. What an excellent piece.
