Drowning in a false reality
no one their to wake her up
or catch her when she stumbles
She sinks deeper
into artificial euphoria
Can she rise above the waves?
A riptide of pent up emotion
drags her head beneath the dark waters
into a strange world
of syringes and pills
She lies suspended
forever between the worlds of light and dark
Walking an ever thinning line
until the day she loses balance
and falls
Another victim of a synthetic society

I hope the subject of this writing is still with us. If she was a heroin or opiate addict, I hope she found her way out. It doesn't take long to fall into the undertow.
Good job, Rikki |
