A Wasted Life

Why couldn't I make up my mind
So many chances left of rthe abyss
Indecision haunts my dreams
And infects all my thoughts
Never could I get the courage
To take the oh so necessary risks
Always I was thinking
Rarely was I trying
Events loop themselves over and over
My mistakes so clear
A couple of finely placed words
And I might actually have a life
The headache grows to the point
Where I'd prefer heartache
As a wise man once said
It is better loved and lost than to never have loved at all
I retreat to my hole
Afraid to face the world
Fearing rejection and endless taunting
If I say what my heart feels
A worthless heap unworthy of pitty
That's me alright
Even if I'm intelligent and have other great skills
They matter not when your indecisive
The pressure mounts
Opportunites abound
Soon I will escape
From the dreary state
