Can't touch this

Cannot get me now
Surrounded by my kingdom of empty eyes
Paint covered lies.
See the smiles lighting up others worlds
The happiness coming from simple things
Like a true loves favorite color.
However, that cannot touch me anymore
I am in my world of acid books
Of night terrors and talking through the moon.
Look at that boy ridding the bus
Heart beating fast, fists clenched at his sides.
He just saw the girl who makes his mind run blank.
Now I will turn away from that all.
Look at my peaceful land of fallen books
And skirts used as curtains to keep out the hateful sun
So now all the pain that comes from loving
All the screams that come from lies
Can be forgotten in favor of my tie-dye smiles.
