It Drives me Insane

Contributed by bobotheclown on Saturday, 7th December 2002 @ 05:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It drives me insane
To see you two together
I just want some pain
Where is the sharpest blade?
I want to pop a vein
And smile, as the blood
Sprays into my face
In a cool, refreshing spray
I'm burning inside!
Burning inside!

It drives me insane
To see you two together
You have me by the large intestine
I've been dragged through the mud
I'm drawn to you
Like a moth to a flame
I'm shaking
Can't get you out of my mind
Or you two macking on each other
My brain screams a silent prayer

It drives me insane
To see you two together
Can't you see the pain in my eyes
No, of course you can't
You never looked in my direction
I was at the summit
The summit of my depression
The summit of my despair
How did I keep control?
I want to mangle myself

It drives me insane
Indeed it does
And still I love you
I think that hurts the most
Why can't I die?
Or mangle myself
Beyond comprehension?
But no I remain here
The thorn on the rose bush
The nomad who never finds a home

I'm crying inside
I'm empty
Why? Why? Why? Why?
Why do I hate myself?
Where can I go
To find true happiness
Peace has escaped me
And flown away like a bird
And I remain here torn inside
Like a worthless piece of cloth

The fact remains
That I love you
And love is stronger than this pain
So nothing changes
'Cept another scar added to my heart

If we allow ourselves to love, we should expect pain. I especially like the line: "And love is stronger than this pain." That's what it's all about.

i guess i don't really understand this type of poem. i suppose i am extreemly fortunite to love the same person who loves me. the closest i've come to writing something like this is "A Sield Maiden of Rohan" and that was based on the story of Eowyn in The Lord of the Rings.

You see i know exactly how you feel but there are worse things tht make you wanna bleed and die more... my fiancee and boyfriend of two years killed himself 3 days after my birthday in march this year. i still havent gotten over it and it does hurt and sometimes i just wish he would have taken em with him but love is pain. suffering just makes the good parts of life better..........
