Children turn to listen to the dead man.
Raggedy man of streets fair womb,
a capitulating carcass careening wildly
through the masses spreading the word,
of joy, of love. Hate, and scorn,
an eggshell mind, broken born.
Thorny gaze in stunted glaze
finds a listener to heed the message,
heed the call to arms, spreads the alarm
to all the pretty boy, handsome girls,
coffee shops with mocha swirls
fade in the background of his pedestal,
a makeshift church in hades.
Raggedy man's got a spark in his eye
the madness of a weathered guise,
save the souls, go with God,
he prays that it ends this way.
Open your hands to let the blood pool,
fool yourself into thinking you're Christ,
that you'd sacrifice your life to save
the wretched masses of this enclave,
that you chose this life in fair barter,
that you gladly chose to be the martyr.
