When I first heard of a struggle
Of a twisting in the sands
I thought a snake had wrapped around me
And deprived of my hands
Though I wasn't there to see it
All the glory and the gore
They told me it was brutal
I can't see blood anymore
Could it be a lover's quarrel?
Bleeding hearts fed through a string
Or a broken, battered body
That sits lifeless on a swing?
I don't know any details
Of this horrible exchange
Why did it come to haunt me
And leave me rocking in my cage?
