no-one's angels

Contributed by weepingprophet on Tuesday, 25th January 2005 @ 09:55:09 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

i wear my sackcloth heart
distant, disabled
i'm falling apart
to the rythm of your anguish
to the pleading of the sound
i'm seaking to find
to fill, to deny whatever i'm without

echoed words of sermon judges
knowledge wrapped in exortations
gentle, begging, don't sin
but i'm a sinner
do you love me
i'm a sinner
are you so high above me
pastor, antichrist
is there room in your pew
for a sinner like me
is there room in your heaven
for a sinner like me
is there room at your alter
no just your offering plate
you're the product of primate hate
soak yourself in arrogance

have you not fallen
have you not fallen
we're all fallen angels
who can spread their wings to find
jesus in their hearts
blood washing away pride
denied

jesus came down of the cross
so you could place yourself there before it
He got up, got down
to offer you as a sacrafice
wipe your eyes
your demise
i despise you

Jesus breathes in who you hate
He loves me like anyone
the only one
take your pride
your sermon judgements
you're fallen
so i'm fallen
we're all fallen
no-one's angels

Great write! I like the 'soak yourself in arrogance'. It's a shame that so many that profess to do great good more often do great harm....very sad. Wishing you the best! Keep sharing.
