O'What Fun It Is To

Took a walk to Fleury Woods my dog at my side
Acting so spry
Oh yeah; Fleury means flower
It was damp and mild, but I would slip an slide
Had two foot of snow january twenty-third
Trapped inside for a few days I was getting antsypantsy
So was Freckles my friendly dog
The blizzard of 2005 I would guess you heard
I saw three young boys a summer ago
They were pushing bycles through the woods
The pathways so over grown
I spoke with them and like any boys they liked a woods
Racoons rabbits squirles birds and maybe even a crow
I spent the summer clearing trails
Believe it or not Freckles would help pull small shrub from the ground
I ruined my lawnmower and got another
Needles to say I worked off my tail
Back to my story now
Bare trees were reaching out as if to snare
Confectionet powered branches causing hunger pangs
Tree truncks smitten with snow
The thicket of brush heavely ladden pure whiteness in my Christmas card view
Martin and sparrow darting hither and thither
I slipped fell and let go of my dog
He was off running happy and gay
I lay there in deep snow covered with my laughter
Freckles Freckles I called he was having too much fun to come
Chasing I broke through ice on the path to soak my lower pants and feet
O' what fun it is to walk in a woods in two foot of snow
Calling calling doggy doggy please com'on
He came running,but streaking past
I reached and fell as his leash I tried to grab
Cold cold snow went down my back and I lost my hat
The cold snow ran so far down my back; if you want to know you will have to ask
Freckles came and saw me lieing there in the sparkling snow
I frienged I was dead
He came and breathed his spirit on me
Freckles gave me a licky kiss and I got his leash
Up I struggled saying com'on boy home were going to go

Sounds like you and Freckles both had a good day outside. Hope you didn't get hurt when you fell. Enjoyable write.

Nancy
