Thank you.
I want to thank you,
It’s the least I can do.
You were a portion of my life
I couldn’t give away.
Until today.

I’ve seen so many fears,
So many tears
that came with you.
And I’ve dreamed so many dreams
just wishing I could be with you.
I want this world to fall apart.
I just want a fresh start.

You were my direction.
I went running to your loving hand.
And now without you in my life
I don’t know where I stand.
I have a place to choose today,
But here, I cannot stay.

This feeling calling out to me
Brings with it a freedom shared
With no one else in this world,
I should be feeling scared.
Its calling, I can see it
I can’t stand to look away.

This calling feels so true.
Feels so new.
I can’t believe its not coming from you
But I knew,
The day would come that you
Wouldn’t see me through.

I’d have to stand on my own two feet,
Reject the hands that I would meet.
If nothing else I’ve learned from you
Its that
No matter what I do
I always seem to find a way
To wish I hadn’t lived today.

Very nice write Marc, I liked it a lot. I think the second and third stanzas are most descriptive the fourth and fifth are full of emotion and feeling. The first and last are beautiful. Great write.

Maybe... maybe the things we really want and don't get teach us to let go, in a way. Whatever. I really liked the poem. Rather interesting.
Take care.
David
