The End

Contributed by fielding88 on Tuesday, 25th January 2005 @ 05:14:45 PM in AEST
Topic: goodbyepoetry

The end has come and gone,
Yet I felt I needed to hang on
To a love divine,
I thought was mine,
And in doing so, missed the dawn.

Life has thrown me upside-down.
With you came hope I thought I found.
But the hope I gained was temporary,
And the time I spent necessary,
But to you I became bound.

I could not leave, not wanting to grow.
Not wanting to change until you’d know
That you were my world; in itself was wrong.
I idolized you humiliatingly long.
When feelings from you still didn’t show.

I’m moving on from this dreary life.
A balancing act on a sharpened knife.
The prize at the end was worth it
But for me, higher up did not see fit
To give me compensation for my lengthy strife.

I’m up in the air, devoted to none
Still in search for that special One.
The “one” to complete me, the “one” I knew,
Was never meant to be, and we never grew,
And so I go on, I am nowhere near done.

What kind of comments are these? I mean come on! lol..I'll give you a comment! lol anyway,

I really like the flow of this poem and it had a very nice concept to it. Deep, meaningfull, and emotional like your writing always is. I especially like the form portrayed here, rhyming the first two lines with the last and the middle two with eachother. It made me think how beautiful poetry really is. How much you can express.. this was an incredible write, another masterpiece to be proud of.

Well done,
