Curtains*

Curtains are window treatments,
This we know is true...
But if you think about it
There lots more that they do.
They have a way of hiding what's inside,
Inside our homes as well
As what's inside our hearts..
Something people rarely think about,
So this is where I'll start...

Curtains of various textures
Colors, sizes too,
Give us a measure of safety
To keep outsiders from looking in.
But what about inside the heart?
What troubles lurks within?

No one on the outside,
Has the slightest clue...
Of all that goes on inside,
What's really bothering you.
Curtains tend to shield the world,
From lots of heartache and pain.
The greatest joy is to open them, for some,
To see the sun shining once again.

So next time you close your Curtains,
I hope all is well inside.
Once their closed for the night.
My thoughts will be of you my friend,
Praying that you're alright.
Curtains have they're purpose...
To decorate our homes,
Hoping that once they're drawn for the night,
That you won't feel all alone.

If you need someone to talk too
Just call me, I'll be there for you.
Everyone has Curtains...
As well as their share of problems to.
Next time you draw your's for the night
Here's something you can do, take time...
Call an Elderly friend, who may be alone,
To make sure they're alright.
By showing them you truly care.
Come morning, she can open her Curtains.
With smiles and lots of sunlight.

Shed some light in someones life!

Such a simple object that I never paid any attention to except to wash them when dirty.
You thanks to this insightful write have opened my eyes a little more today.
I love this poem and I thank you.
