we watch them change before our eyes and cry
why must it be our loves what did they do
but we know this is a random thing we hope
watching step by step they go from stage to stage
we die a thousand deaths at every step of the way
each step forward we take they go back twice as much
we beg for a cure but so far none has been found
again we cry knowing the battle will soon be lost
how can we survive this constant siege on our hearts
we die a thousand deaths at every step of the way
our battle never ends till their last breath is taken
our love is so strong we cannot quit we go on
we are battle weary and drag our bodies onward
the struggle will continue till the vary end of time
we die a thousand deaths at every step of the way
as the end time approaches we know the battle is lost
we feel the defeat and again we cry for we have lost
we put forth a good fight to the end the pride is there
our love for them stands true and they stand proud
we die a thousnad deaths at every step of the way

Nice poem... and the line stands very true that we die a thousand deaths. I've lost a grandparent to that disease and I know it isn't easy. We feel great pain but in the end know that theirs will be allieviated.
