Sailing through seas of loneliness
Searching for only one star
To reach the shores of happiness
A journey so long and so far
Waves of sorrow wash over me
The taste of my sea salted tears
The dark of the sky it protects me
From all of my long hidden fears
The winds of the Gods direct my mast
And I know that I'm losing control
Drifting far away from my past
The ocean has taken my soul
Whispers of an old sea song haunt me, possess me
An empty vessel. Ghost ship.
I long for something more....

The last two lines strike the hardest. Does leave a certain amount of bleakness with me, however I love the analogies you use.
