A Breaking Heart

Why do you allow your heart to break?
When you could easily step in
And remove the danger
Before it has a chance to begin
You’re attracted to heartache
Drawn to the wrong type of guy
And each time it happens
You’re left questioning why
Can’t you learn from past experiences?
Why don’t you allow yourself to grow?
Or is it that your self-esteem?
Is at an all time low?
You can do far better
But only you can change the tide
You deserve so much more
Then to be taken for a ride
You will never find the right person
If you’re always with the wrong
It’s time to change the lyrics
Of the heartbreaking song

Oh, amen to that one. Easier said than done, but surely a worthwhile goal!
