I wish upon a gleaming star
A star shining in a place not so far
A star not visible in this clouded sky
A star shrouded from my own eye
I wish even though it remains unseen
I could see it in that sky with glee
It is shining up in a twilight dome
I can feel it in my heart and through my bones
I am wishing I could catch a tiny glint
I am wishing I can see just a hint
To know for sure my prayers are not for naught
And keep my stomach from its knot
I can travel to where it was seen
Only to return to where Ive been
Empty handed and closed in mind
Always to search, but never to find
But still the clouds roll on by
Keeping my star hidden in nightly sky
Never to shine upon my brow
I need to feel it, feel love, feel anything, anything... some how
