“Somehow” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 049

Somehow, life’s a circle
Sometimes, you must let go
If it comes back, it may be yours
Only one way you can know.

Take the risk, and turn away
And leave your past behind
Block it out, and move ahead
And let yourself be blind.

Somehow, it won’t go away
You let yourself believe
If it comes back, than it must be
Worth waiting to retrieve.

It always comes right back to this
A chance to start anew
Maybe better still this time
If only then we knew.

Somehow, there is some answer
Some meaning to this way
We end up talking like before
Just too much left to say.

I don’t expect a thing from you
Just friends this time to stay
Until we see another sign
I’ll enjoy this every day.

Somehow, like it was before
This time, is this time right?
Agreeing, not to disagree
To end the way we fight.

Friendship, filled with honesty
No reasons left to hide
Giving trust to understand
All that we keep inside.

Somehow, open up our hearts
Share all the good and bad
Being here, to stay this way
You’re back, and I’m so glad.
