The stresses
Come in succession;
Never-ending,
Unforgiving,
Stretching the hours.
Stretching the hours into years.
Time presses,
Lacking in recession;
Forever spending,
Unforgiving,
Drawing his loves.
Drawing his loves into fears.
He's stumbling
On Cupid's path...
Unaware of opportunity
Lying on either side,
Awaiting in the shadows.
Awaiting to be saved in the shadows.
He's fumbling
With his own craft...
Unaware of what could be
If he'd try not to hide,
Hide from love's hard blows.
Hide from the pain of love's hard blows.
She's there,
A radiant, aphroditic smile
Enlightening her features.
He loves her beauty. He loves her.
Why can't he say it?
Why can't he say it to her?
A year unfair,
Failure haunting all the while.
She fell in love with her's,
Slipping from his grip forever.
An opportunity lost.
Just another opportunity lost.

There's a lot to be said for self-delusionment when it comes to matters of the heart.

I can definitely relate to this poem.
I hate when you have feelings for
someone and you are unaware that
they feel the same way. Excellent
description of falling in love.
This poem is very touching.
