Laughter in the living room

I’m filled with envy,
whenever I hear laughter,
whenever I see a smile,
on my brother’s face.
Each twinkle in the eye,
that I happen to gaze upon,
drags me down to ‘envy’,
bitter, cold and growing.
Widening lips,
narrow my mind.
The laughter in the air,
is all that I can hear,
as I sit alone,
alone in my room,
when all else is rejoicing,
outside these walls…
