Need To Feel Again

“Need To Feel Again” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 03/17

Electrified, and cast aside
Emotions, never cold
Forgotten dreams, and passions
Of things I used to hold.

Among the many reasons
The obvious one to me
I guess I’m trapped alone
No chance of getting free.

Eluded by the chances
To find someone to love
They seem to all be hiding
It’s what I’m worried of.

I try and fail, and try again
But always, it’s the same
Only hurt and broken down
Left empty, with my shame.

Self esteem is weakened
Self worth is fading fast
I crave what I can’t have
A love, for once to last.

Not desperate, not that far
Just here biding my time
Awaiting something special
Someone I can call mine.

Can she come, and will she soon?
Will it happen once for me?
I only keep my faith alive
One love to come so sweetly.

I’m hanging by a fine thread
On future chances and belief
Somehow I Need To Feel Again
And end this searing grief.

I only Need To Feel Again
I only want to know
How it feels, to feel again
So sick of being low.

Just help me Need To Feel Again
And show me the right way
I know I Need To Feel Again
It’s all I wish and pray.

I'm afraid to comment on a poem like this. The words of a stoic. I truely enjoyed this poem and it hopefully is not your situation.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
