I feel so numb
All I can do is cry
As I weep myself dry
An aching infusion of torment
Leads to confusion as to why
My brain starts to scream
As the blood starts to spray
Sadistic laughter, screams of pain
A bloodied visage
And a pierced, holy anatomy
You were treated worse than a dog
All I can do is cry
At this needless sacrifice
Thinking of all the times
That I've chosen to fall
As diamonds trickle forth
And I bend forward
Catching them in my hands
I still hear the needless laughter
And the steady chink, chink, chink
It's maddening as I realizie
You were mocked and beaten for me
Your needless death gave me life
All my sins caused You pain,
Yet still Your love is unbreakable
And so many times I have ran from You
I have caused You to cry so many tears,
Yet after all these years
You still stand by my side
Holding me during my worst pain
And now after years of running
I find myself turning back to You again
I place my trust and faith in You alone

Everything you have said here proves that his sacrifice WAS needed. Without it none of us would ever have hope of heaven. This is an excellent and thought provoking write my friend.

I remember that movie too, I was so moved by it... it broke me into pieces and I cried so hard. I was afraid to try and write anything, knowing I could never do the thoughts and feelings in me justice.
I applaud and commend you for writing this, those feelings are so true, and you voiced them with a lot of honesty. I think you did a wonderful job. The first two stanzas were amazing.

A very powerfull poem filled with so much sadness.
Its such a thought provoking write as well which is a good mix to have and it works well with this write.

| read the 22 Psalm..it talks of Christ's own feelings..it says he could feel every bone in his body separating..I heard a story once..about a man who took his own child and a neighbor's boating..and the boat capsized..he could only save one child..which did he choose? Which would you choose? I don't know if I could save my neighbor's child and let my own die..and yet by letting Christ die for us..that's exactly what God did.. He gave His only son in our behalf.. great write.. |
