Metaphorical Thunder

The old hairy lion chases after the gazelle,
His legs, heart and lungs pumping wildly,
The gazelle has time to stop and eat,
She pauses for a drink and trots off mildly.
He pauses by the watering whole, looks around,
There is no other as fleet as his intended prey,
He stalks her slowly hunkered way down low,
Trying to sneak up on her but, she doesn't stay.
She snuck away in the middle of the night,
He ROARS in great lamented disgust,
To run across the plains freely,
At himself he is angered with unsatisfied lust.
Unwilling to have anything less palatable,
The lion lies here dieing of hunger,
The sky cries a torrent of cool spring rain,
As he takes his last breath THUNDER!

Nope, whole as in the whole wide world. Its a metaphorical poem. It's not even about a lion or a gazelle. . . Silly
