How Do You Do It?

Contributed by fielding88 on Sunday, 23rd January 2005 @ 02:22:47 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

How do you know when your life turned cold
And a part of you was broken?
How do you cope with the stories you told
And the words already spoken?
I’m asking questions you’ve never heard
Why don’t you open your eyes and start to spread the word?
Life is a gift and love is a game
And feelings like this have gotten me to complain.

How do you turn to the ones you hate
And say that love isn’t wrong?
When will you learn it’s a little too late
Because you waited much too long?
I haven’t lived my life to be sainted
I can’t count the ways that its been tainted.
Do what you can to mend the past
But don’t you put it first and leave the future for last.

How do you turn to the one you love
And say that you’re in doubt?
The love that fits her like a glove
You know deep inside you can do without?
I can listen to the things that haunt
Your life, but all the things that I would want
Are left in the dust of our growing pains,
And I only lose while you’re making gains.

well since i already made the comment on this poem, but it wasnt sent, i have to remake it. well i think this poem deserved better comments than that and more comments than it has. i loved this piece, especially the first stanza, the questions, and the human nature topic. it was very well done, and there was nothing to critique. so in a nutshell, that was all i said, but i rather liked my other comment better.

Marc, this is absolutely amazing!! So much thought and detail and emotion! The structure was nicely done, the thoughts.. this was my favorite part. You thought out so much here and it fit perfectly together! The questions worked great with the overall poem.. this was another phenominal post!
I loved this, I agree with essentially9 this piece deserves MANY more comments, and more praise.

Excellent Work!
