Scream

Contributed by waos on Sunday, 23rd January 2005 @ 12:21:36 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Screaming to heavens through windshields
petitioning stars to heal scars.
Blanket night silence,
only background music...
Bring before the footstool
the anger of this world.
Bring before
the shame, depravity, and pain.
Beg for help.
Helpless.
Hopeless.
Silent Silence.
Empty and alone
with only stars to hear the complaints.
Dream of armies answering;
hope to heal her scars.
Fault lies not at our door
yet blame she places on hers.
Where is the God who promises answers?
I believed. I believed. I believed.
I loved. I loved. I loved.
I prayed. I prayed. I prayed.
I tried. I tried. I tried.
I believed.
Don't deny that I tried.
Effort.
Love.
Persistence.
Specific.
Denied.
I tried.
You denied.
Scream to the heavens through cracking windshields
buffetted by the stones thrown to kill.
Ache in remorce of frustration,
ache in shame of failure;
ache in empathetic suffering.
And scream to the heavens
rampant questions...
Questions to fall
on ears so indifferent
without response.
Don't deny that I tried.

very good poem, kara, but i dont think it is one of your best. this poem reminds me of my favorite song, in the end by linkin park.
"i tried so hard and got so far
but in the end it doesnt even matter
i had to fall to lose it all
but in the end it doesnt even matter."

wow such an awesomely poetic poem. I
absolutely loved it and I think it is just perfect.
That last line, 'Don't deny that I tried.' was just
so awesome. Keep your chin up.
