“If Somehow, I Should Die Tonight” - by J. Samuelson Copyright©2001 02/27

If Somehow, I Should Die Tonight
There’s so much you should know
How much I am in love with you
You’ve made me feel so whole.

The times we’ve had I cherish
I’ll take them with me, up above
The best thing on this earth I found
Was time spent here, with you my love.

Though I may not be here on earth
I’ll live inside you, in your heart
I know you were what made me feel
Like you were the best part.

Remember times we cried together
And all the laughs we had
The thoughts, and all the honesty
Through all the good and bad.

Know that I wanted, us for life
I needed you here to breathe
I put you up, above my life
And kept myself beneath.

This is what you mean to me
So please try to understand
I loved you then, I love you now
As I’m in the promised land.

I’ll look down on you, every day
And pray your world is bright
And be there beside you all the time
As you go to sleep at night.

You have to know these feelings
Just in case it’s my time to go
I want to make sure you hear this
It means everything to me, that you know.

I loved you from the beginning
And still, I love you at the end
You’ll always have me and my soul
Until one day, we meet again.

So If Somehow, I Should Die Tonight
I’ll go, but have you on my mind
A perfect smile across my face
A smile to last all time.

If somehow, this is my last chance
To show you all my love
I had to write these words to you
This is all I ever think of.

Just making sure, I say it all
One more time, because it’s true
If Somehow, I Should Die Tonight
I’ll leave, still loving you.
