Dead In The Night

Dead in the night
The night is still young
There's so much not to do
Life's songs are all sung
Its promises untrue.
There are things that give pleasure
But none can relate
I'll take a drastic measure
'Cause that will elate.
Bullets, blades, and rope
Can alleviate the fierce pain
I've given up all hope
Life's so inhumane.
As the dark grows upon me
He enters my room
I escape my body, I'm free
No one will trap me in my tomb.
The sky has grown darker
It's time to decide
Do I give in to my stalker
Or should I run and hide?
He'll get his way I know
There's nowhere for me to run
Never let the pain show
For the night is almost done.
The day is fast approaching
And soon it will be dawn
He's finished all his touching
But stripped me of the courage to go on.
I've withstood it long enough
The bad keeps getting worse
Tired of being so tough
My next ride will be by hearse.
The sun is high in the sky
Darkness has turned to light
I did not get to die
And I lost the fatal fight.
