Butterflies on Blood

Butterflies on blood

I do remember my youth
My days of pride and rage
My days of honor
And how I changed
I remember most of all
What made me change?
I use to ask
But not anymore
It was on my last day of killing
Before the sword was banned in Japan
When the times of Pease were promised
And did come
But there was still that day
How it haunts me
The child lay there on the dirt dieing
I had not killed her but knew who had
He was at the time a friend
A comrade
An animal
I killed him that day
He was too good at what he did
And used the sword that was never meant to be
The darkness consumed him
So after I took my sword out of him
His fell to my hands
I wiped the blood on my bare skin
And sheathed both swords
And promised never to use them again
And so I stood there
I wanted to carry the child
The little girl and bury her how she deserved
Her whole family was slain that night
For they stood against what we though we right
But I could not move
Not one bit, not at all
And I just stood there like
A cold and frozen statue
Dressed in armor
Agelessness covered in blood
How much of it was innocent I did not know
I did not care I did not think about anything
Nothing at all ran through my head
But how beautiful the blue winged butterflies
Looked drinking the blood from the ground
