You pretend to hide in your shell
Thinking no one will ever be able to tell
Who you are and who you wish to be
Around your friends you stay away from me
Call me crazy, but you can’t be sane
Aren’t you feeling hurt? Just a bit ashamed?
You can’t be yourself or so you think it’s true
But I know the real you, and they don’t deserve to
Do you really think that little of yourself?
Pack your personality away, hide it on a dusty shelf
Thinking maybe someday it will dissppear
If it does, my friend, you’ll never see me here
Call me crazy, but you can’t be sane
Aren’t you feeling hurt? Just a bit ashamed?
You can’t be yourself or so you think it’s true
But I know the real you, and they don’t deserve to
You twist and turn and you’ve gone too far
You’ve got a split personality, don’t know who you are
I wish I knew you now, wish I knew your heart
But you’re only half yourself, and it’s tearing you apart
Call me crazy, but aren’t you burnt?
Don’t you feel lower than dirt?
You can be yourself with everyone you know
As soon as you let all your anger go
Call me crazy, but don’t you feel lame?
Can’t you see they’re all the same?
There must be someone taking over you
Cause I know the real you, and they don't deserve to
