A Friend In Need

Contributed by Willofree on Thursday, 20th January 2005 @ 06:42:10 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

Lonely and sad, feeling heart broken
Hopes for love soaring high in the sky
Even for a friendship she had spoken
No response at all from this guy

Didn't seem too much to ask for an explanation
There were no commitments to which he was subjected
This was a renewed acquaintance with no expectations
Not to see each other any more, feeling quite rejected

A real injustice and travesty it would seem
For this friend to be dealt with in such a manner
Having taken the risks, many unforeseen
Now not knowing what was the matter

She now reaches out for some response from him
But no acknowledgement does she receive
All she can do is be there with no chagrin
But her heart feels broken, with no reprieve

We won't abandon her in time of grief
The relationship lost is painful to bear
Hopefully her venting will give some relief
And let her know we love her, and we care

To our friend we would convey
We are here for you whenever you need
Not just with our presence, but we will also pray
May you find new purpose and take heed

God in all of His wisdom will provide
The discernment you need to reach a decision
Your strength of faith will help you survive
You have Jesus, if there is a need for revision

I like this Terry ... the rhymes are challenging and varried. I think you did quite well. Very supportive sentiment here ... she has some very good friends.

Moving, at least for me right now. There's something to be said for the "eternal friend". But if that's all we needed, there'd be no need for other humans. It's a good and poignant write though - I don't know why more people aren't commenting. Great work.
