Soundless

Contributed by Blue on Friday, 6th December 2002 @ 04:48:22 PM in AEST
Topic: ApologyPoetry

You say I shouldn't apologize,
That all my fears are groundless.
I open my mouth to say I'm sorry.
The words all come out soundless.
I feel the need to say I care
'Cause I'm not sure you see
The way that you affect my life.
You mean everything to me.

I said things I didn't mean to say
The words just came out wrong
I never want to leave you.
I've known it all along.
It makes me happy when you're near
It hurts me when you're not.
I hate the words I say to you.
My words are all I've got.

I just want to apologize
For the way I make you cry.
I swear that I won't hurt you again
I know I'd rather die.
You say that everything's okay
My fears are all so groundless.
But in your eyes I see the pain.
Words that are spoken soundless
