Lift me carefully out of this mess I have made
I am in too deep; far beyond the point of a simple escape.
More than anything I am longing for what I cannot have
If he were even a little like you, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
You made me let you in,
now could you just take it back as easily?
Tell me I am not worth the time,
you will not come to rescue me.
Let me believe the feelings you once carried
were effortlessly blown apart.
That I was dreaming up the most of it
What I knew was not your heart.
Push me hard over this impossible bridge,
Anything that sets me free.
So I will stop waiting, undeserving
For you to rescue me.
