She looks at the sun,
I search for the clouds.
She wishes on the stars,
I pray for the rain to fall.
She sees money as an obstacle,
to me it's only slithers of dead trees.
She says I'm a little pessimistic,
I tell her everything will be alright.
I guess we've learned,
not to agree to disagree anymore.
I think we've found,
that together we're weaker than apart.
So you pack up your things and you leave.
And now it's a year to the day,
I'm lying on our bed But I'm alone.
The streetlights outside our window,
vaguely resemble the candles we lit by our bedside.
Each little flame burned so peacefully,
like the calm before the storm that would turn our world dark.

It's been about seven years since my marriage ended, so I can relate. It sound like the ending was amiable and that you have something to offer another, so I encourage you not to be alone. Too much self-reflection... |
