Listen up my fellow riders
And you will learn
how to perform a bike run,
Because you have it over the middle aged
wanna-bees, unless
you haven’t been to Sturgis or Daytona.
Let the old Harleys lead!
First impressions count.
Shovels, pans and knuckles, chopped
and stock frames, spoked or mag wheels ,
it doesn’t matter
as long the bikes are polished, dark colored
or black (which would be preferable)
and loaded with lots of chrome.
No purple metallic flake or candy-*** apple
red paint jobs, please!
Show bikes and rats should be mixed in middle
to display some diversity.
And the lead bikes should have only solo seats
and *****-pads without sissy bars.
Passengers should be viewed as hangers on.
No mufflers!
Straight pipes or fish tails
without baffles--
You want to rattle cages, set off car alarms
and wake up ass-holes that are talking
on cell phones while driving.
It will get them to pay attention.
Let them know you’re coming before you get there.
Take off the full-face helmets.
Wear goggles and sunglasses, and if you must
have a helmet, use a skull cap.
Otherwise just let your hair fly free
in the breeze.
And if it’s too cold for tanks, tee shirts
or vests, break out the heavy rough denim,
weathered leather and the buckskin jackets.
Chaps are fine any time.
Leave the chic Italian café designs for the doctors,
lawyers and business men suffering
from mid-life crisis.
Put them in the back of the line with the retro
rice burners and rockets to hold up the rear
but let the Harley full dresses and Evolutions
be last because you want to leave
with impression of class as you ride by.
Now go out and ride.
Be bikers, not weekend warriors.
