Daddy

A father like no other
A friend one would die for
With eyes that made me smile
Made me love him even more

He pushed me on the swing
That day I would never forget
Playing out in the pouring rain
Coming home soaking wet

We made tents every night
And told stories together
In my heart I knew
He would be here forever

That one night
Asleep in my tent
I head a loud noise
That came from the basement

As I krept slowly down
I begin to see red
I see his body there
And a note that said

"If you are reading this, I must no longer be alive, You can try and try, I
will not revive. To my darling wife and daughter, I'm sorry, and I know its not fair .
But just cause you can't see me, doesn't mean I'm not there.Who ever finds me,
Let everyone know, I'll always be with them, and that I love them so."

Right then and there
I begin to cry
God why oh why
Did daddy have to die

I screamed for my mommy
She came running down
When she saw daddy
She fell to the ground

A few weeks later
They buried him deep
I tried to be strong
But I began to weep

After It was over
I looked up to see
Daddy's angel
looking down on me

Very good write. I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but atleast you have a creative avenue to let out the grief. Keep them coming.

My deepest sympathy goes out to you. Our fathers stay with us always...
By the way...don't be so down on yourself. You are quite talented.
