House of God

Contributed by kellros on Wednesday, 19th January 2005 @ 10:43:27 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

In the house of God there are no priests,
no actors, purists, optimists at least,
the angels may sing in a heavenly choir
as stars shine radiantly through the open sky
and the sun makes the color-tainted windows glow

There are no benches, but candles light the hallway,
there are no psalms but echos of the gateway,
its nothing people made it up to be,
God doesn't care because he doesn't have to, see?
People kill themselves, he's just helping them along salvation way
and time doesn't matter because its his day

The clock doesn't tick for you if you set the time,
the doors don't close upon you if you have the key,
you are not closed behind bars if you're already free

God doesn't award those who try to be,
or those who act like they are thee,
or those who think high of themselves who won't bow down on a knee,
its simple that its a cause which people made it up to be

You will judge yourself some day and you'll see that you did wrong,
so consider this carefully while you still got time to set right the wrong.

INCREDIBLE. You and your poetry have grown tremendously. The depth and maturity here are very iimpressive.

I think you should have ended the title of your poem with a question mark. It would have given truer notice of the content. Many people choose to charge God with unrighteousness by imputing the result of man's rebellion to him. He replies: Is thine eye evil because I am good? And: Nay, but o' man, who art thou that repliest against God - shall the thing that is formed reply against him who formed it, why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the Potter power over the clay, of the same lump (family) to make one vessel to honor and another to dis-honor? All his creations belongs to him. He has total power, it's useless to resist or accuse him.
Scripture ref's: Rom.9:10 thru 24 Isa.46:9-11
Dan.4:35 ( don't ask you to take my word, see for yourself . I know your predicament, I was once there.) God bless

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
