One More Day

Contributed by CurtisC on Wednesday, 19th January 2005 @ 02:14:54 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Losing you was my worst fear,
and now your moving away.
I wish your family would stay here,
even for just one more day.

Time with you is time well spent,
there's nothing else I'd rather do.
It wouldn't matter where we went,
all that matters is that I'm with you.

One last time I need see your face,
and hold you nice and tight.
I need to feel your warm embrace,
and say my last goodnight.

Watching you go is gonna be so unbearable,
I admit I'll probably cry.
I can't think of anything more terrible,
then saying one last goodbye.

My heart won't ever forget you,
you're held too deep inside.
After you I don't know what I'll do,
except wait for all my pain to subside.

It's gonna take some time to forget how I feel,
you had my heart spread pretty wide.
One thing's for sure, it will never heal,
without you a part of it has died.

What can I say? I loved the first few stanzas you posted earlier, but now that I read this as a whole, I love this poem even more. I think everyone can relate to this on a certain level, as how we have all eventually had to say goodbye to someone we love dearly. You have a great way of expressing your emotions very clearly in every line and you really get the reader emotionally involved. This is an excellent write. You have a gift. Don't ever let it go. :-)

How extremely heartfelt, ahh with such emotions. I liked how it flowed, and I know we all can relate, I know I can. Just keep ur head up! TD
