Sanctuary

Contributed by CrimsonTears on Tuesday, 18th January 2005 @ 10:57:46 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I love the way the pain feels
And the way that the blood falls
It’s my way of blocking the world
I’ve built my own fictitious walls

Pieced together with the scars
And sealed with the crimson red
That is where I feel safe
Deep inside my own head

For every drop of blood
There is a secret of a time I fell
And for every scar I have
There is a story for me to tell

Every secret and every story
Is filled with all the pain inside
But that is where they’re better off
Because they give me a place to hide

A sanctuary of my very own
Left alone where I can be free
I can think whatever thoughts I please
And there’s no one to say how it “should” be
