Gagged –
bound to this earth.
There is no recompense for that
which has been lost.
Spirits that linger through
tragic despair torment the
living –
jealous of flesh, they haunt.
Malcontents that move furniture
in the night –
more than just storybook chain rattling.
Suffocate the children as they sleep.
