"Insomniac"
Laying here it's almost 2 A.M.
I'm on my back, the lights are off,
but sleep is no where near
I roll all around
and count a million sheep
But then they fail
The night grows stale
The only thing I want...
I wanna dream of just anything
I wanna dream before the birds sing
I wanna dream of just anything
A flash of brilliance surges through my mind
But, as lightning strikes the ground,
it soon did disappear
Will somebody please
give me a little sleep?
I don't know how,
I need it now
The only thing I want...
I wanna dream of just anything
I wanna dream before the birds sing
I wanna dream of just anything

Too simple for my taste. this is more Prose than poetry. Sorry but I think you need to try again. |

When the ticking of the clock thunders with each motion, that's when the insanity seems to settle in. Enjoyed reading, and can definately relate. The monotonous of insomnia is portrayed well here.
peace

I can SOOOOO relate to this one........
I find it rather simple as well, but after reading the comment from...oh, I forgot who said it but he said that it expresses the monotony of insominia and isn't that a good point of view! Great write!
And on that note I am off to bed....at 2am....LOL
Thanks for sharing!

Wow now, gonna share something with ya. As far as this write to me it's definently not simple. It was chronic insomnia that helped me realize my God given talent of writing poetry which most of mine are lyrics waiting for music.
Don't let anyone discourage u from writing. You have the raw natural talent that only Jesus Christ can give you. You'll find if u jus let it flow then sooner or later you'll find sleep.
Throw away every one elses mold of poetry-n-do your thing 'cause u got what it takes and your own unique style is what the Planet needs.
luv, huggs, smiles,
emy
Your write is a masterpeice 'cause is it is my belief that every writer on this Planet can relate to insomnia, that is if they let it flow free. Maybe not all but many can so write more masterpeices.
I agree, think it would make great lyrics but lyrics are poems jus waiting for music. |
