I sigh at the sight of you.
So many words to speak,
yet no way to express them.
Your empty promises surround me.
You are hopelessly sinking, drowning,
and I cannot save you.
I thought I could teach you
to swim through the strongest currents,
to climb the ladder of success.
I watch you drown, I watch you fall.
Saving you is not an option --
I have tried and failed.
I feel numb toward you.
What am I to do,
when I have no words for you?
You have left me numb.

Great poem, it feels terrible when you try and help a friend, but fail... |
