Fool For Love

Contributed by juliette on Tuesday, 18th January 2005 @ 01:43:36 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Unmasked-
Her betrayal so fresh in his mind-
Regardless of the passing hours
The scars remain; unrelenting.
Such precious parts of him soured –
Trust broken, running low on self-respect,
Heart shattered and tears wasted;
Like the hours he spent loving her.

Refreshing,
To think at least now he is aware
Of her selfish secrets –
Since however real his pain
She might have burned him worse.

Bitterness,
Binds him to a memory he tried
so desperately to make worthy.
The irony in the unfairness of it all –
While he aches to repair the damage,
She moves on to her next
Fool for love.

Love makes a fool out of the wisest men
But when love shatters a heart, only then
Will the wisest of men think twice
That loving in vain has a painful price

This is a very nice poem. Keep up the good work!

Hey Juliette, I thought I would find the poem sooner or later. I can't tell you how much I loved this poem. I am just amazed how you captured my feelings so well just from talking to me and reading a couple of my poems. It is truly an amazing poem and it makes it even better because it is about me. Thank you for all of the kindness that you have shown me and I will talk to you soon.
Later,
Kane
