Please don't worry
Never worry
I'm quite alright, see
I'll be fine
Grow old with time
But your worry bothers me
Well maybe that's a lie
But I'd hate to see you cry
Over what is meant to be
So I'll just keep it hidden
That I may not be livin'
My tears you'll never see
I'll play the part of the happy elf
Instead of mourning over myself
So happiness there will be
So I'll never see you cry
As I slowly, naturally die
So my last days are happy

I understand your not wanting to burden those around you, but it's hard to keep the cork on bottled up emotions, esp. when things get shaken up. You're right- the internal pressure will slowly kill you. I've done it to myself, because it seems selfish to burden someone with a problem that can't be changed. I think I'm strong enough to conquer the emotions inside, on my own, but then I lose my perspective and the problem gets worse.
If someone loves you enough to show concern, don't turn them away! Watching you "slowly, naturally die" makes them feel helpless. Even if all they can do is listen, letting them listen helps ease their worry while hiding behind a "happy elf" mask only increases it. |

Kie-Kie, That’s a new twist on a theme! A spirit of quiet resignation instead of desperation. Reminds me of a poem I’ve yet to write about one person seeing blackness and the abyss in the night sky, and another person seeing a sky full of stars and wonders. But I digress…I like your thoughts in this one, and look forward to reading more.

to late.. I worry . to late I cry. but you have to know that your poetry helps others.. it says hey I have been where you been. I hurt inside like you. keep writing and keep showing your feelings. brings out feelings in others that need to be.. |
