The Failure of the Pursuit

I barreled down this road I knew dead ended,
Never expecting to get caught up in your grace.
Only a fool would let this die and I admit it,
It is just so confusing stuck here in this place.
With two hearts tangled in the spokes;
One out of habit, the other in love.
Not sure where to turn, I go for broke,
Only to cave in when push comes to shove.
But I felt what I was missing holding onto you
Running away was wrong; I could have done this right
Looking back, so sorry for all I put you through
Pulling you into me before I dared take flight.
Seems I am the kind of girl they warned you about,
The simple path unfolds and I quickly follow suit.
You fall under so deep before I cop out,
Cursing the wasted failure of the pursuit.

I don't think who ever rated this a three knows what they are talking about. This is still a good poem. Not all poems have to rhym when they come from the heart. I still like your other poem better and I know what it is like getting stuck in a rut. Just keep writing and don't listen to any negative comments because when you write from the heart you can not produce a bad poem. Talk to you later. Check out The Foolish Young Man and let me know what you think of it. |
