Our words are frozen just below the ice,
Entrapped in prehistoric crystal spheres,
Where moving mouths of fish have no advice,
And torn between the grasp of a Shakespeare,
The sonneteer, a life of metaphors.
Whose coupling couples like couplets will end,
Perplexing minds of wisdom churn as oars,
Beneath the sea of thought a lilting blend,
Where salty tweeter mingled maddening minds,
With swirls of bitter flavors shore to shore,
Almost in sweetening notes of metered rhymes,
Whose grasping musical words--allure,
But just below the ice is my simile,
Reflecting crystal face's with a smile.

Wow. You put a lot of time and thought into
this. It's great. That sounds so mediocre
considering that this poem is far from that.
I loved the first 3 lines:
"Our words are frozen just below the ice,
Entrapped in prehistoric crystal spheres,
Where moving mouths of fish have no advice"
This whole poem was ingenious though. |
