Again lost

Never do you trust me
though you tell me that i may.
You don't beleve
Trying to protect me this way.
Holding me back
Though i am growing up
still you treat me like a child
But i want to learn,
and i want to be with my love.
How may i do so
if you never let me.
I want to believe,
Trust in my abilitys.
how you smother me,
holing me down, and pushing me back.
you want me to be some one else,
i am not you.
i want to live,
i want to love.
You dont trust my feelings
"your only seventeen"
Graduation in may,
Eighteen in july.
you have no faith in me,
and i wat to trust.
again held back how do i trust
i want to move on and grow up
no matter what i will grow up
you dont see it or accept it
but i do

(Keep in mind that I am 27 as I write this.)

My mother was kidnapped and murdered when I was about 14 years old, but was never a real presence in my life. At 17 I was graduating high school, after switching foster homes and desperately wishing my mother were there to tell me what I should and should not do. I am not preaching to you sunshine, just telling you that in good time we all HAVE to grow up, and that when you are 27, you will look back at least once, and wish you could be 17 again.
If your lust for independence is over a boy, there is probably a genuine reason your mom wants you to slow down, or not see him at all if that is her stance. Ii have been in that position too - my first love, who I still write about often was also such a screw-up, but in my eyes he could do no wrong. Since we were eleven years old he has never spent a full year out of jail, and is incarcerated now. He is my best friend in this world, but a waste......My foster mother, who forbid me to see him, knew that.
When we are in love, and 17, we don't see the things in people our parents do. Because they are older, and they are wiser, but we don't know that until we have lived a little ourselves: made our OWN mistakes and lived with them.
You are still a child for such a short time now honey. Be a girl while you still can, you will miss this later on!
Thanks for sharing!
juliETTE
