Just Like This
January 16, 2005
With the sun in your eyes and your smile growing wide
I want to remember you just like this
When you tie your shoes in a rush to catch the bus
I want to remember you just like this
While the sun goes down and you study the pinks and oranges with a frown
I want to remember you just like this
With your eyes fixed on the page and your mind so engaged
I want to remember you just like this
As the plane lifts into the air and you claim you're not scared
I want to remember you just like this
When you look at me from the bathroom with a toothbrush in your mouth
I want to remember you just like this
Every simple moment so complex in memory
I have to remember you to understand me
