The morning I was born
I was right where I belonged
There was need to leave from there
I felt like I was wronged
If you felt what I was feeling
You would most definitely agree
But Colorado Springs, not Sparta
Is the place for me to be
The mountains seem so violent
They look like sharpened steel
But to me they are so gentle
Soft to the touch, soft to the feel
Pikes Peak hovers over
A city made of gold
But as I'm getting older
Its feeling more like home
When I look back at my life
I wouldn't change a thing
Except I would move from Sparta
back to Colorado Springs
