Sitting on the floor with my back agianst the wall,
I try to rememeber my past,
A faded memory of the house I once lived in,
Alot of pain,
Alot of hurt,
It was my home.
I can still remember laying in the grass,
The way it felt,
The sun shining up above me,
The smell of pine and earth,
Such a sweet smell,
It was my home.
The breeze would come up,
And the trees would sway in such a way that it was amazing,
The creek was just across the street,
The bridge went over it,
That bridge would ever fall,
It was my home.
In my room the carpet was soft,
On my back I would lay there,
Looking up and all that I wanted to do was leave,
And now that I'm gone from that place,
All I want to to go back,
To feel the breeze combing my hair,
To see the creek and the little bridge just above it,
To feel the grass,
To lay on my back on the the soft carpet once again,
It was my home.

I know how you feel. I used to live in Virginia as a child, and into my adult years all I ever wanted to do is go back. Now I live in Colorado and love it here. You've made a beautiful descriptive write. Cheers |
